Chunei Safety Precautions
Along with the "How to Wear” section it is very important that Chunei wearers follow the below safety precautions. Baby wearing must be done properly and safely to avoid injury to yourself and the baby. Please be aware that neither ihosa Canada nor its distributors are responsible for accidents or injuries that occur from improper use. Please use your common sense & follow all safety precautions because you are responsible for your baby when using the carrier.
- The CHUNEI carrier should never be used on a baby who is unable to hold up their own head.
- Always inspect the CHUNEI carrier before each use to make sure it is in proper working order including straps, buckles and Velcro.
- Keep baby away from hot surfaces, sharp objects, and choking hazards. Ensure your child can not reach hot, sharp or dangerous items while in the Chunei.
- Be careful when carrying items with a baby in a Chunei carrier. Also, be cautious around doorways and other obstacles that the baby could bump into.
- Always bend at the knees and support your baby if you have to reach down.
- Never wear a baby in the carrier when on a raised or unbalanced surface, in a motor vehicle, while swimming, on a bike, or any other unsafe conditions.
- Chunei carriers are not suitable for running or sports of any kind. They are made for walking only.
- For baby's comfort as well as yours it is best to carry the baby in a piggy back style when on the back with knees on each side of your waist and feet along your hips.
- Always use caution when putting the carrier on or taking it off. We recommend it is done over a soft, safe surface like a bed or a couch. The safest way to put on the Chunei is by seating the baby in the carrier on a couch and slipping your arms in and properly securing the carrier and the baby before standing. There are numerous ways in the "How to Wear" section.
- When you feel like your baby is slipping it means that the carrier is not secured properly. Make sure to readjust it
- We recommend not wearing the carrier under a coat.
- Again, make sure to always use your common sense and be safe. Baby wearing can be a lot of fun for you and your baby.
